SASS Session 1 The Crew-The views

Session 1 is a wrap down here at Sass. It was such a good session with good people and good snow. Session two started yesterday and the new crew is solid with many of the dudes from last session that stayed longer.

The lake right near the compound, with Patagonia mountain top in the background.

Mike Perle strapping in ready to drop.

Camper bro's Chris Tearny, Alex Bayer, Mikey Perle. These dudes kill it hard and are best buds!

Boarding, Hanging, Observing Argentina

Here we are boarding, hanging, and observing every day down here in Argentina.

This is the base of Cerro Catedral eaarllyyyy in the AM when we show up. This was an amazing morning!

Supposedly, these dogs were used for back country and avalanche rescue...The barrel around their neck was used to hold whiskey for the victims to keep warm. These guys are so mellow, gotta love em.

The crew building a kicker. Cutting blocks and stacking.

The trees in Argentina.

Crazy winter clouds.

One of my campers, Chris Tearny here on top of a kicker overlooking Bariloche. The wind was so strong that he was just balancing his board forward and the wind was keeping it in place.

The camper bro's getting ready to drop. There was an inversion that morning, leaving the clouds socked in below over the lake. It was amazing out!

Tikos checking in with his new look....He's got mad stache skills down here in Argentina.

Cerro Catedral

Cerro Catedral is the resort in Bariloche. This place is so fun with all kinds of terrain to ride and ski. You can ride the lifts all day or go for many different hikes to get away and seek the good snow....Also, the views are insane from everywhere you are.
We built our first jump, which would have been so good, but the wind picked up causing speed to slow down...Oh well, more to come! We have just been covering all the areas of the mountain while doing safety and avalanche drills. It's epic and the guides are killing it, getting us ready for camp!

Bariloche Argentina-Post 1

Bariloche, Argentina!!! I guess I'm back to winter with warm gear and my snowboard back in action. The food and wine is unreal and the people are super nice! We went to the mountain today to scope all the different zones that we will be using and this place has some epic terrain with everything you need at a mountain. Apparently the ski patrol here never do avalanche control, so thankful we have our guides before we have clearance to roll to zones-pretty much in bounds back country, which is good as long as we take our time. The weather is perfect, just waiting on more snow. I am working on my Spanish as well, but my buddy Lucas from here calls me Gringo Original-I gotta keep working on it! THis place has a mellow pace to it and the mountains and lakes are awesome. It feels good to be here!

Whistler/Blackcomb Grenade Games

Whistler BC-I came up to Whistler to ride for a while and meet with my board sponsor Endeavor Snowboards and ride Grenade Games! It's been so good up here with everything that is going on right now. There is also the telus festival, which is annual this time of year and brings sick live music and events on and off the slopes! It's crazy how much is actually going on at all times. So riding all day at both Whistler and Blackcomb parks is so sick. I can't get enough. Check the art photos as well from the Red Bull art show that they had in the village-art pieces from the best. Enjoy!

Dangerzone Episode D-Unit

Check this super fun day at Kingvale...the setup is super fun right now and the vibes are flowing well with so many good people making laps and features to make you ride with no breaks! We filmed this episode on the idea of riders who wear tight pants on the norm wearing baggy pants for the episode. The idea was to bring everyone closer to riding for what it is instead of parting into separate groups because of different styles. We all snowboard bc it's fun, not because it's the cool thing to do! Enjoy and I hope to ride with many of you soon. Peace

Seattle on the way to Canada

I'm on my way to Canada-Vancouver and Whistler for a couple weeks and stopped in through Seattle to Hang with my brother and his lady. We got super lucky with the nice weather this weekend and have been loving the city life. We went to the Seattle Sounders game and they won. It was a super rad game they scored last minute and the crowd went wild. We then did a day with Meagan and her friends doing the pub crawl which raises money for Systic Fibrosis. it was an amazing time and sooooo many people all over the streets. Audi and I even came across a bar where you can bring your dog in and order PBR 40 OZ beers in a brown paper bag. That was a highlight as well.
We also met up with our good friend Trevor, who used to rep for Burton in Tahoe for years and now works at Superfeet. He loves it up here and showed us some sweet spots as well. Off to Vancouver in the next day or so, then to Whistler. I'm fired up for the rest of the trip and will plan to come to Seattle again sometime soon. Hope everyone else is loving life and enjoying the rest of the season!!!
Peace

Hot Tub Shred Machine

Check these bros out in the Hot Tub Shred Machine-Tahoe Dangerzone episode. It's pretty classic and funny. I could have gone without seeing them in skimpy short shorts, but the episode and idea is sick for sure.

We saw some good friends, went surfing, hung out and got our bronze on-actually I got burt, it was pretty sweet. Then headed to Bear on the way home for a some spring time boarding-It was good times. Now back for some powder and hopefully deep turns. Hope to get some runs with you. Peace..

Endeavor Snowboards BOD Series Product Review

Endeavor Snowboard Design was created in 2002 by Max Jenke-retired Pro rider and Scott Serfas-Senior Staff Photographer for Transworld Snowboarding Magazine. The owners are Max Jenke, Scott Serfas and Rob Dow also a retired pro rider! Having these guys run a brand with such strong influential backgrounds makes for a solid brand as a whole.

The Board of Directors Series is designed for the rider looking for a clean look with a nice responsive side cut and pop. It is a directional freestyle snowboard making it ideal for riders who love to jump in the park or powder, and make fast fun turns in powder or hard pack! The flex rating on this board is on the stiffer side of the Endeavor line rating a 2 out of 10 (with 1 being the stiffest)! It is one solid poppy deck! Even though it has a stiff rating and is epic for charging lines and jumping, I still love riding the 157 on jibs and rails in the park. It’s solid and stable, but maneuvers very well making it fun on all features. For 2011 it comes in a 154cm-157cm-160cm. Kale Stephens, Endeavor team rider who has always been on top of the snowboard world pushing the limits chooses this board for every day use and for charging powder and jumps! Art is very important to Endeavor making each and every model stand out in it’s own way. The art work for this series was done by Vancouver, Canada artist Vince Chan who has done work for Crooks and Castles, Complex, and Hypebeast to name a few. It is a clean look and the graphic is sick! One of the huge reasons that Endeavor is so amazing is that they make sure the materials used for the entire line are top notch and art work from world renowned artists is used for the graphics! It’s a package deal that makes their snowboards on top of the game.

Detailed Features include the following

-Directional Freestyle Shape
-Stiff Flex Rating=2(1is stiff/10 is soft)
-Extremely Fast Sintered 7500 Base, Factory Waxed
-Aggressive side cut for quick turns
-10 Tip to Tail Carbon Stringers for Extra POP
-Stance Centered on Contact Points
-26″ Maximum Stance Width
-Poplar Tip to Tail Wood Core
-Retail price is $499.00(Great price for the performance)

I am riding this deck as well as the Endeavor Live 159 and the Endeavor High 5 159 models. Make sure to check out the website for more details on the entire line and peep the blog at http://www.endeavorsnowboards.com

Anyone who may be interested in purchasing Endeavor products can order from the website and they will ship direct! I would love to share more with anyone interested! Feel free to email me at drurylagger@hotmail.com if you have any questions or if you are interested in riding some boards. Thanks everyone!

Squaw Mini QP Session

The other day my buddies Stefan, Matt and Lino called me up to go ride Squaw! The weather was not so good so we decided to go to Papoose the lift. There was a burm of snow at the bottom that was perfect for a QP! That bad mother got shaved up and we had such a good homie session! I love days that end up like this-One for the books for sure! Here are some photos from the mini session! Enjoy!

Kirkwood Pow-Early Ups

Last week my Physical therapist gave me the go on riding after I hurt my mcl last month- Abro gave me a ring asking if I wanted to head to Kirkwood for a photo shoot for Kirkwood! Abro, Greg Lindsay, Natalie Gough, Dan Krenicki, and myself headed out the night before. They put us up in some super nice condos in the village. We got early ups with Coop and Jimbo, some long time kirkwood skiers-classic dudes! They took us to the goods before the crowds hit hard. 2 and a half feet plus of blower pow and good friends made out for one of the best days of the season for ripping turns for sure! Everyone killed it and the highlight was Greger sending a solid drop to a baked up landing stomping hard-that guy kills it so hard! Thanks to Kirkwood and Abro for the good day!
